Accessibility Statement

Delta T Heating & Cooling is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Here's what we do, what we're working on, and how to reach us if you hit a barrier.

Delta T Heating & Cooling is committed to ensuring the digital accessibility of deltatkc.com for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

1. Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. WCAG defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Delta T Heating & Cooling targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA for this site, aligning with the standard most commonly referenced under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for commercial websites.

Conformance is an ongoing effort. Some content may be only partially conformant at any given time — see Section 3 for the known limitations we are tracking.

2. Measures we take

Accessibility is built into how we design and build this site, not added at the end. Our current measures include:

  • Semantic HTML — pages use real headings (a single h1, properly nested h2h6), landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), and lists where lists make sense — so assistive technology can navigate the page structure.
  • Keyboard operability — every interactive element on this site is reachable and operable with a keyboard, and includes a visible focus indicator that meets at least a 3:1 contrast ratio.
  • Skip-to-main link — the first focusable element on every page jumps straight to the main content, so keyboard and screen-reader users do not have to tab through the full navigation each time.
  • Alt text on informative images — photographs of our team, trucks, and equipment carry descriptive alt text; decorative images carry an empty alt="" so screen readers skip them rather than read them aloud.
  • Form labels and autocomplete — every form input on the site has a visible <label> and the autocomplete attribute set where applicable (name, tel, email) so users with cognitive or motor disabilities, or who depend on autofill, can fill forms quickly.
  • Color contrast — body text on this site is rendered in our warm-ink token #0e0e0e on a warm cream background #fafaf7, which clears WCAG AA Large and Normal Text contrast by a wide margin.
  • Responsive layout — content reflows cleanly down to a 320 px viewport, and the site supports up to 200% browser zoom without loss of content or functionality.
  • Reduced-motion respect — interactive elements that animate honor the prefers-reduced-motion system setting.
  • Continual review — we test new pages with automated tooling (axe-core and Lighthouse Accessibility) and review them manually against the WCAG 2.2 AA checkpoints.

3. Known limitations

Despite our ongoing efforts, some content may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Known limitations we are actively working to address:

  • Third-party content. Some embedded content provided by third parties (for example, the Google Maps embed used on the service-area display, the Service Finance Company financing flow, and certain social-media embeds) is delivered to us in a form that we cannot fully modify. We have requested accessibility improvements from each provider and we link to the underlying information in an accessible alternative format wherever feasible. If a third-party embed is preventing you from completing a task, please contact us (Section 5) and we will provide the information by another channel.
  • User-submitted content. Older blog photos may carry shorter alt text than we would write today, and we are progressively rewriting alt text as we republish content.
  • PDFs. Some older downloadable documents (for example, equipment spec sheets) may not be tagged for accessibility. We provide an HTML alternative or, on request, a tagged-PDF version.

4. Assistive technology compatibility

This site is designed to work with recent versions of the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers — VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, NVDA and JAWS on Windows, TalkBack on Android.
  • Speech recognition — Dragon NaturallySpeaking, macOS Voice Control, Windows Voice Access.
  • Browser zoom — up to 200% in current Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
  • Keyboard-only — full keyboard navigation in all current browsers.

If you encounter a compatibility issue with a recent assistive technology that is not listed above, please reach out — we want to know.

5. Feedback and assistance

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this site, and we are happy to provide the information or service you are looking for through another channel if the site itself is preventing you from getting to it.
